The Gilded Cage has reverted to it's original form...an artist guild.
In late August of 2015, after a very successful run of the ABurlyQ! weekender, it was decided that to preserve the Gilded Cage, things needed to change. After several years of growing the troupe, the local burlesque scene, and individual performer careers within the group, pressures were beginning to outweigh benefits. The radical change back to a consortium of artists free from constraints such as regular meetings, peer reviews, and obligations related to stiff show schedules would be beneficial to all. Thus, we have returned home, where we can work with who we'd like and when, where performers are responsible for their own efforts, and where we can simply enjoy the show.
Who we are now
Vivian MirAnn, The Sultry Sinner
When not producing bi-monthly shows with Gilded Cage Burlesk & Varieté, Vivian performs across North America as a representative of Albuquerque’s burlesque community. She's performed in festivals from Montreal to Atlanta, from Colorado to Minneapolis, and far beyond as well as shimmying in scores of smaller shows around the country. Recently, Vivian became the very first New Mexican burlesque artist to guest star as an International Feature Performer, an accomplishment that she is very proud of. Living by the motto "Forever learning, forever improving", she takes great delight in experimenting with a wide variety of acts, music and performance styles.
Driven by little imps and demons, Viv joins whatever burlesque and craft classes she can find, always seeking ways to make her stage presence, costumes and routines ever more interesting and enticing. You can generally find her in her craft room, buried under mountains of rhinestones and feathers, wine in hand, working feverishly on her next creation.

H.P. Lovefast, emcee
We don't know what to say about H.P.
Discovered in the marshes along the Rio Grande last year, he's a conundrum to all who meet him. The girls love him, the guys want to be him (especially in the dressing rooms) and the audience appreciates his razor wit salted with rakish good looks. And his illicit stash of contraband Twinkies. Those never hurt anything.
Meet the Former Troupe...
Dr. Kill Greedy
Mr. gizmo box, our resident tech virtuoso
He just showed up on our door step one day...a little lost and kinda sticky. We have no clue where he came from, but we thank the sparkly burly Gods for him! Fans of the Gilded Cage can often find him opening the shows with his favorite clips of demented debauchery, giggling feindishly as the audience reels and ogles his disturbingly entertaining Filmtime Funtacular.
Jane DeVito, Rh, manager of the unmanageable
Jane Sweeney is one of those rare cases of someone in the burlesque world that you will not see in the spotlight. As one of the co-producers of Gilded Cage Burlesk & Varieté, Jane is the practical one making Albuquerque's best shows happen while also organizing the massive 4 day ABurlyQ! festival. Her incredible stage managing and production talents have gone beyond the New Mexico border and she has found herself assisting and producing the Alabama Burlesque Festival and several stops for the Bishop of Burlesque's Staged Wedding Tour. She has never met Danny Devito but that's okay; she travels with two of his stand-ins.

Scar Letta, the beauty in boots
As a girl, Scar Letta loved dancing, playing dress up and making things... and well, things haven't changed much. As a young woman, she fell ass-first through a glass coffee table, receiving over 50 stitches on her lovely little rear end. The scar- as well as massive stage fright- kept her little be-hind behind the scenes for many years, focusing on clothing, costume and accessory design. Scar fell in love with seeing things in her head and making them a reality for all the world to enjoy.
Her love of handmade items also lead her to fall in love with those little imperfections that come with one-of-a-kind things... like us. With time, she embraced the scar to the point of taking it on as a stage name. No longer was she dreaming of just costumes but costume/act/idea combos. Now a budding performer, she's always seeking ways to bring circus and performance arts into most of her pieces as well as giving creative spins to classic acts. Our gal is also passionate about photography, cursing, bones, anatomy, sustainability, creative building, pit bulls, gory movies and boobs... she's crafty, she's good with an ax, and she's a little scary ;) She's Scar Letta!
